Do vacuum erection devices actually work?
A vacuum erection device works mechanically: negative pressure draws blood into the penis, and a tension ring placed at the base holds it there. Because it does not rely on the body responding to a drug, it is often considered when oral medication has not worked or cannot be taken.
Whether it is right for you is a conversation to have with your physician. Results vary from man to man.
Do I need a prescription?
No. Every system Augusta Medical Systems sells online is an over-the-counter product. No prescription is required.
The original device cleared by the FDA in 1982 did require one — that changed for this class of device over time.
Is it safe? What are the side effects?
Talk with your physician before starting, particularly if you take blood thinners or have a bleeding disorder. Follow the instruction manual on tension-ring wear time: the manual gives a maximum duration and it should not be exceeded.

How long does it take to learn?
Most of the difficulty is in the first few sessions — getting the seal right, choosing the tension ring that is comfortable, finding your own pace. That is exactly what the training videos above are for.
What size cylinder do I need?
The standard cylinder is 2.25 in × 8 in and fits most men. We carry three sizes in total, up to 2.5 in × 10.37 in, and the size-to-fit (STF) systems add smaller inserts for a closer fit.

How do I activate my warranty?
Register your system on this site within 30 days of purchase. That activates the one-year warranty. A lifetime warranty on the pump head and cylinder is available for an additional $99.00 at checkout.
